Neon Genesis Evangelion

Evangelion is based in the year 2015 and half of the human race is dead. However, the survivors face the terrible consequences from giant biotechnological experiments called Angels, who wiped everyone out. Within Tokyo-3 is the headquarters of the secretive organization called NERV, a special United Nations agency. A handful of teenagers are trained to pilot the immense super-androids called Evangelions and fight against the Angels at their own risk, whatever the cost to their minds and souls. NERV's objectives are to destroy the angels without anyone having to suffer. Shinji Ikari, whose father heads the NERV team that created and controls the Evangelion, is forced into a series of battles and events that he doesn't understand. Forced to search into the depths of himself for the courage and strength to not only fight, but to survive the destructive path of the angels.
